Pre-Wed: Sheila & Marnelle

Two consecutive weekend Pre-Wed Shoots! Well, can’t really complain I enjoy going out with my clients doing the Pre-Wed shoot. Many professional photographers might think it’s a waste of time taking photos prior to the wedding, but for me I think it is vital that you get to work with your clients before their actual wedding day. To somehow give both the bride and groom a feel on how I work and what would be our workflow on the actual day.

And not only to simulate the shots or directions, I think one of the key factors a pre-wed shoot does in a wedding photography is the rapport with you client. There you get to talk to them in a more casual manner and get to know more about them as individuals and as a couple, and trust me the more the couple open themselves to me the easier it is for me to my job…and that is to tell a story of their wedding…
Here are some of my favourite shots of the shoot

Pre-Wed: Angela and Albert

Today I discovered another good location for photo shoot, thanks to my clients Angela and Albert for requesting to do their shoot at Clarkes Point Park, Sydney. The place was under major renovation and most part of the park have been closed, but the council left a small portion of the park open to the public.

Clarkes Point is far enough to have the convenience of a suburb no traffic and easy parking and yet close enough to enjoy a great view of the Harbour Bridge and the city. I would definitely go back here as soon as they finish renovating the place and take a lot of photos for my reference.

Here are some of my favourite photos of the shoot.

CD Cover Shoot w/ Ann Maree

view slideshow

I had a full on day yesterday having clients coming over at 9am for wedding enquiries and a photo shoot with Ann Maree for her first single “Move Your Body” CD Cover. I would also like to thank Chantal Saleh for doing Ann Maree’s make-up she was very patient with me and tried her best to accommodate most of my request. This will be Ann Maree’s biggest project as far as her singing career goes, but with Miss Earth and few other Pageant Titles in her belt I am pretty sure that Ann Maree would be a hot seller in the chart as soon as her single is out.

The shoot was for 3 sets which lasted 8 hours straight literally, the only break that we get is the clothes change between shoot. It was a big effort for Ann Maree’s and her whole team for staying focus for that long and what an amazing girl she’ve strike out a lot of pretty good poses.

So to Ann Maree and Big Boi Management, I wish you all the best for this single and for the coming year. I know you have a big year ahead of you next year and I really wish that you guys go all the way!!!

The Story

Yesterday Emille and Mae finally had the chance to come by the studio to select the photos they want included in their album, the couple are just to wonderful and very light headed and very casual with their requests. Though Mae did most of the selecting heheh which is typical to every Bride, but I think Mae did a very good job in selecting the photos.

And now that viewing is finish it’s the beginning of one laborious part if the wedding photography the Post Production and Album Lay-outing, which I think is hated by most traditional photographers. But for me I think it is the most interesting part of the production, because this is where you tell the story of the wedding and make the photos come together. And even though I’ve done a few weddings already I could still confidently say that every wedding is different and every single one have their own story to tell.

So I have attached one of my favourite lay-outs of Emille and Mae’s wedding.

Back to writing

I finally have the chance to update my Blog because of my busy schedule last week with both wedding shoots and clients coming over to view my work. Now I have a week off from my regular day job and would have plenty of time to play around with my camera and experiment with few ideas that I have in mind for the last few months. And its good to have a little break once in a while to give me some sort of a balance, though I would still be taking photos which I really don’t consider as a job but more of a relaxation.

Wedding: Emille & Mae – Part 2

Back to my regular Sunday routine after a wedding shoot….post production galore! I was so excited browsing the photos last night. Capturing all the hard work that the couple put in to making their special day perfect is such a privilege…More so being able to shoot a traditional Filipino wedding which you don’t get to do so often.

There are so many photos that I really love but here are two of my favourite shots.

My new Canon Pixma Pro9500

With my new Canon Pixma Pro9500 I can now print my own layouts, saving the time from rushing to my printer who normally closed very early during weekdays. The new Canon Pixma Pro9500 comes with a 10 colour ink cartridge giving you better contrast and spectacular black and white prints.

I am so amazed with the B&W prints that most of my layouts had B&W in it hahaha…for months I have thought of whether I should buy an Epson or Canon printer but I guess I just love Canon so much no matter what.

Website finally Up!

After having our website down for almost 2 weeks and alter on finding out that even our email system have been down due to Web Hosting Transfer, our new website is finally up! With this soft launch of our Flash Site clients would be able to view a secure proofing page to view of their photo layouts for their albums. Plus the very attractive slideshow of the home page and the galleries page.

Which I guess makes our long wait worth it…

Shoot with Lucy B

Here are some the photos taken from my shoot last saturday at the new Sun Studios at Alexandria, we hired one of their massive studios for this shoot because the concept we have for this shoot is to have a model seating/standing in a swing dressed in a nice formal gown. And surely the only place you can setup a massive swing is doing the shoot in a massive studio, thus requiring us to hire Sun Studios.

I had a great time and can't get my hands off their very expensive lighting equipments, the place surely is a photographers heaven.

Pre-Wed: Emille & Mae

With our new wedding packages now including albums and Pre-Wed shoot, couples Emille & Mae my wedding shoot on the 24th of November 07 have their pre-wed shoot in Norwest. Since our package only covers locations for pre-wed shoot within 5kms radius, I took the couple at Norwest the new central business district in the Hills District.

On of the main features of this location is the lake in front of the Sydney Ice Arena, which makes the shoot a very casual and relax perfect for a Sunday afternoon shoot.

Wedding: Kathlyn & Stanley

It feels like forever since I last did a wedding, my semi-holiday really did really made me clear my head just concentrate in taking photos and not be very fuzzy with the lighting and background.

This is my favourite amongst the many very relax and very casual shots that I took from Kathlyn and Stanley’s wedding, which I think reflects how I feel coming back from a long break.

Shoot with Sidney Roberts

After being away for almost a month, I am finally back in Sydney! And what a way to start my very first photo shoot back…with Miss Sidney Roberts hehehe….What a coincidence with the name?!

This is our Halloween shoot and the concept is to have a bride with messed up makeup and worn out gown, the makeup was done my 3Art one of the premier makeup college in Sydney.

New Editing Machine

Finally a new editing machine! Still can’t afford to buy a Mac, so I have settled to just upgrade my current system but the supposedly upgrade turned into buying a new system. My old system is too Jurassic that I could only salvage the keyboard and mouse…I am still hoping to get my Mac system in the future….

AIPP Commercial Evening

Being part of the Fashion Photography class of the Australian Centre for Photography, I got invited to AIPP Commercial Evening sponsored by Sun Studios. The night started with the unveiling of Sun Studios new venue in Alexandria, the place is a state of the art photographic haven for fashion photographers and alike. It was followed straight after by the presentation of Ms Jacqui King - BIPP Photographer of the Year for 2005, and the only female board director of the British Institute of Professional Photography. Jacqui showcased her recent work and the photos that made her win the photographer of the year award.

HK Tour: Big Buddha and Victoria Peak

Went to see HK’s Big Buddha and Victoria Peak but the most thrilling part of my day was spending the rest of the afternoon shopping around for camera gear. Went to the biggest camera shops in Mongkok and Kowloon, like a kid in a lolli shop I have tested and played with every gadget they have in stock. Luckily my wife was with me and kept on reminding me that I don’t need those stuff…otherwise I must have spent everything I have that day heheheh….but I am glad that she is with me because I really don’t need them...yet.... hehehehe…

WPPP Photo Congress 2007: Final Day

Last day of the WPPP Photo Congress 2007: First presenter for they day is Videographer Jason Magbanua, named as One of the 25 Most Influential Videographers in the World. Though I am not in the field of videography hearing Jason talk about his love about his work and his vision to be the best in his field is truly inspiring.

Later in the afternoon second presenter Lito Genilo have been awarded the WPPP Photo Congress Photographer of the Year 2007, like myself Lito started photography only few years ago but through dedication and hard work he have accomplished so much in a very short period of time.
