Pre-Wed: Sheila & Marnelle

Two consecutive weekend Pre-Wed Shoots! Well, can’t really complain I enjoy going out with my clients doing the Pre-Wed shoot. Many professional photographers might think it’s a waste of time taking photos prior to the wedding, but for me I think it is vital that you get to work with your clients before their actual wedding day. To somehow give both the bride and groom a feel on how I work and what would be our workflow on the actual day.

And not only to simulate the shots or directions, I think one of the key factors a pre-wed shoot does in a wedding photography is the rapport with you client. There you get to talk to them in a more casual manner and get to know more about them as individuals and as a couple, and trust me the more the couple open themselves to me the easier it is for me to my job…and that is to tell a story of their wedding…

Pre-Wed: Angela and Albert

Today I discovered another good location for photo shoot, thanks to my clients Angela and Albert for requesting to do their shoot at Clarkes Point Park, Sydney. The place was under major renovation and most part of the park have been closed, but the council left a small portion of the park open to the public.

Clarkes Point is far enough to have the convenience of a suburb no traffic and easy parking and yet close enough to enjoy a great view of the Harbour Bridge and the city. I would definitely go back here as soon as they finish renovating the place and take a lot of photos for my reference.

Here are some of my favourite photos of the shoot.

CD Cover Shoot w/ Ann Maree

view slideshow

I had a full on day yesterday having clients coming over at 9am for wedding enquiries and a photo shoot with Ann Maree for her first single “Move Your Body” CD Cover. I would also like to thank Chantal Saleh for doing Ann Maree’s make-up she was very patient with me and tried her best to accommodate most of my request. This will be Ann Maree’s biggest project as far as her singing career goes, but with Miss Earth and few other Pageant Titles in her belt I am pretty sure that Ann Maree would be a hot seller in the chart as soon as her single is out.

The shoot was for 3 sets which lasted 8 hours straight literally, the only break that we get is the clothes change between shoot. It was a big effort for Ann Maree’s and her whole team for staying focus for that long and what an amazing girl she’ve strike out a lot of pretty good poses.

So to Ann Maree and Big Boi Management, I wish you all the best for this single and for the coming year. I know you have a big year ahead of you next year and I really wish that you guys go all the way!!!

The Story

Yesterday Emille and Mae finally had the chance to come by the studio to select the photos they want included in their album, the couple are just to wonderful and very light headed and very casual with their requests. Though Mae did most of the selecting heheh which is typical to every Bride, but I think Mae did a very good job in selecting the photos.

And now that viewing is finish it’s the beginning of one laborious part if the wedding photography the Post Production and Album Lay-outing, which I think is hated by most traditional photographers. But for me I think it is the most interesting part of the production, because this is where you tell the story of the wedding and make the photos come together. And even though I’ve done a few weddings already I could still confidently say that every wedding is different and every single one have their own story to tell.

So I have attached one of my favourite lay-outs of Emille and Mae’s wedding.

Back to writing

I finally have the chance to update my Blog because of my busy schedule last week with both wedding shoots and clients coming over to view my work. Now I have a week off from my regular day job and would have plenty of time to play around with my camera and experiment with few ideas that I have in mind for the last few months. And its good to have a little break once in a while to give me some sort of a balance, though I would still be taking photos which I really don’t consider as a job but more of a relaxation.
