This year I have been invited by Mosaik Productions organisers of Model Quest (Sydney based modelling competition) to cover their most prestigious event. MQ is in for a major overhaul this year and unfortunately I am on tight leash, so can’t really spill any beans til its time hehehe…
I have my first shoot for the first batch of the contestants today, it’s been a whole day shoot and with a wedding gig the day before just makes me dig a little deeper. But it has been a great day everyone had a great time, the whole team of MUA’s, stylist and photog assistants have been really wonderful people to work with.
Unfortunately the photos would not be released til sometime July… But as soon as I get the green light from Mosaik Productions I will post them here in my Blog. So keep checking my Blog for updates!

Textured Images, do you like it…yes or no?

I will be introducing a few twists in my post production and that would be the use of Texture Images. Its has been going on now for quiet sometime within the wedding post prod circuit but never really gave it a try as it did not fit my style and liking, but I have a smart professor back in Uni that said life is a continuous learning and stagnant means death.
So I shook myself up and tried to embrace this new technique with open arms and see what is behind it, with my first few tries I still can’t make a decent image to convince myself that this will work. But after a few tries and research I somehow found a way to use it to my advantage, and one of the key lesson learned is… do not over do it!
Texture give substance and character, so have tried to use it to those images that implies those…I tend to use it with my PJs (Photo Journalism) to have a sense of history and old age in the images…somewhere within the vicinity of “Story Telling”.
Some people might like it, and some might now… but for me I choose to embrace change as I think it will keep me alive.
Here are some of my practice edits on Textured Images, hope you like it?
Emerging AIPP Member, my first step
Australian Institute of Professional Photography, AIPP is the governing body that strives to promote and maintain the highest standards of professional competence and business ethics in the industry here in Australia. On Friday I received my welcome letter from them accepting my application as an Emerging Member for the organisation.
As an Emerging Member I will have to learn from the experts in the industry and participate in the organisations events and activities. Though it will take me to become a full member, I am just very glad to have my first step into being part of the highly respectful organisation.
And what a timing to join them as they have the annual APPA competition coming up soon I can’t wait to see the works that will be entered in this year.

Wedding: Kavita & Sumit

My very first Indian wedding and was I blown away in amazement with its colour and culture, that's even before they start dancing! The music was so enticing and it’s a totally different experience which I can’t explain…I really feel privilege to witness and be part of it, and now I can't wait to have another one and hope I don't have to wait very long.
Here are some of my favourite photos of the wedding.
